It has been an interesting and challenging time for all of us in the Vaal North-West Region. Many of our institutions have started making use of methods of service delivery that we have never used before, for example, online therapy and psychometric assessments.  We are excited about the new options we offer and the ways in which we are still able to be of service to our students.

During the lockdown the staff from NWU Student Counselling and Development on the Potchefstroom campus had their own 21-day Lockdown Challenge to boost morale and check-in with each other. There was a different challenge every day, some personal and some work-related. Here is a picture of the last day of the challenge – everyone had to post a picture wearing their NWU face mask.

We have also been involved in creating psycho-educational material to distribute to our students online. Various topics are covered and the videos can be viewed on the NWU YouTube channel.
